Clinical Approach

Our approach to working with individuals is guided by four principles: common shared humanity, compassionate awareness, self-discovery, and connection. We become a companion who facilitate self-discovery along the journey. We use a variety of approaches, such as existential and humanistic approaches, as well as person-centered, Compassion Focused Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative approaches, Reminiscence therapy, Life Review, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Befriending Anxiety and Depression in later life
Virtual Group Therapy
This is an 8-week (2 hours per week) group designed to support adults and older adults who are struggling with anxiety and depression. Participants will learn evidence-based coping strategies, mindfulness techniques, and practical skills to navigate life’s challenges. We start every session with a mindfulness practice, followed by sharing. Then, we moved on to exploring a specific coping skill, using one’s own life experience. Participants will be encouraged to share and be listened to without judgment.
Who is this group for?
Older adults who are struggling with depression and anxiety and want to learn new coping skills to improve mental well-being and foster a greater sense of purpose.
Days:
This group meets weekly on Saturdays
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Dates: Saturday, April 25, 2026, to June 13, 2026.

What types of therapy do you offer?

We offer individual therapy to adults with a focus on older adults, as well as telehealth and concierge therapy for adults who wish to meet in their home, local park, retirement community, library, or any other preferred location in Loudoun County, VA.
